A self-proclaimed godman named Madathilan Rajeev, alias 'Achan Swami', has been arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl and many other women on the pretext of practicing witchcraft. Claiming to have miraculous skills, Achan Swami has allegedly cheated and sexually exploited several women. Only after a minor girl approached the police against him, many other women came forward alleging to have got raped. The minor girl is said to have approached the swami for saving the life of her uncle. In the pretext of curing the ailing uncle, Rajeev made the girl visit him for poojas. She was raped thrice, the police said. Police booked him under POCSO charges.

The mason turned godman was a black magician through which he claims to have made huge wealth. Through witchcraft, he claims to have saved the lives of several sick people and developed financial growth for many. The victims say that Rajeev performed the puja by placing a coin on the private parts of women. The 17-year-old girl was also taken for puja in the same manner and was raped. Rajeev's clients were not only from the neighborhood but also from other states. He is said to have gained popularity through his activities on social media handles.
