Yesterday morning, director Seenu Ramasamy had alleged in a press meet that he was being threatened through phone calls which were in abusive tone as he had asked Vijay Sethupathi to quit the Muthiah Muralidaran biopic 800.
Seenu Ramasamy had claimed that he faced life threat and had requested protection from the Chief Minister. Following this, the Tamil Nadu minister for Information and Publicity, Kadambur Raju has announced that TN government will be investigating the issue if Seenu Ramasamy registers a formal complaint.
Kadambur Raju said, "The issue ended after Vijay Sethupathi accepted Muthiah Muralidaran's request and opted out. Seenu Ramasamy hasn't approached the government or the chief minister formally. Govt will not be watching without taking any action if anyone faces threats. Even after the threat to Vijay Sethupathi's daughter, the government took immediate action, and the youngster who made an abusive post was made to apologise for it. If Seenu Ramasamy formally lodges a complaint and asks protection, the government will give him protection and will take action against the ones giving threats".
