Director-Actor Seeman has shifted his complete focus to Tamil Nadu politics in the recent years. He started the Naam Tamilar Iyakkam which has emerged as a Naam Tamilar Katchi in the year 2011.

For the upcoming Assembly Elections 2016, expected to be conducted in May this year, Seeman will be fielding his party's candidates in all the 234 constituencies of Tamil Nadu. He has also released the list of candidates which includes a transgender named Sridevi. Seeman is being showered with praises by members and activists of the transgender community as well as the general public for this first of its kind initiative.

Now the Election commission of India has allotted Candles as the common symbol for the 'Naam Tamilar party' candidates contesting in the elections .

Getting a separate symbol is the first recognition for the might of a party and also a landmark step in every party's electoral history.

We wish the best for Seeman's 'Naam Tamilar Party' and its candidates.
