Yesterday, we reported that a lawyer named Veera Narayana Chowdary had filed a petition in a court alleging that rationalist and Bigg Boss-2 contestant Babu Gogineni habitually hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus. Following a direction from the court, the Madhapur police have booked Babu under various sections of the IPC.

Surprisingly, Babu has been accused of committing a crime under the anti-Sedition law as well! Yes, one of the cases registered against him is under Section 121 (Waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India), and Section 124a (Sedition) of the IPC. He faces charges under 9 other sections/laws.

While Babu must be oblivious to all this because of his Bigg Boss-2 stint, Jana Vignana Vedika is going to hold a meet at the Somajiguda Press Club in his support. Loksatta's Jayaprakash Narayan too will speak at the event to be held on Friday between 4-5 PM.
