He recalled an instance when he’d be playing keyboard for Ilayaraja and ‘Vijay sir’ as a young man would be sitting focused deep in his thoughts. He also noted that the secret to Vijay’s success was his desperation to achieve and win which is very visible throughout the actor’s career.
