The super hit Kannada film ‘Thithi’ actor Gaddappa in having natural beard there is a secret behind. Actor of over six films in the last one year Gaddappa was running a small hotel in a remote place that was surrounded by forest. The problem for his hotel was that of thieves. He was very much worried on the theft happening in his hotel. He prayed god and said ‘Oh My god, please stop this and for your help, I would have beard permanently in life’.

The prayer of Channe Gowda did not fail. He started beard on the promise he made. When he was travelling one of the bus conductors called him as ‘Gaddappa’ instead of Channe Gowda. The same name continued and kept in ‘Thithi’ film.

Gaddappa is 80 years today and his daughter look after the finance aspect of his film career. He is not aware what remuneration his daughter accepts. There are a few prompt payers of fixed amount. Others do not bother to give remuneration.

On the dialogues with low taste he utters in the film, he is not aware of such lines. I do according to director instructions he says.

As the election fever grips in Karnataka the popularity of Gaddappa is also in demand. Gaddappa is not interested in supporting any one political party. Health is not good is one reason and secondly he does not want to perturb the minds from statements given to him in political campaigns.
