It's known that the state government has been into distributing Rs 10,000 to the families in GHMC affected by floods. The news is that, in view of the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the GHMC polls, the Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday issued an order to put on hold the process.

Following the SEC's order, a directive has been issued by relevant authorities calling for the suspension of the distribution process in order to avoid attracting the MCC rules, as per which acts that are likely to influence the electors should not be undertaken.

The MCC came into force from Tuesday. It will end on December 4 with the declaration of the results of the GHMC polls.

The monetary compensation process will be restarted once the MCC comes to an end.
