Violence erupts at Malaysian Mahamariamman Temple

Violence erupts at Malaysian Mahamariamman Temple

The Mahamariamman Temple in Seafield, Malaysia  was witness to widespread violence where at least 18 vehicles reportedly were set on fire.  It was in connection with the relocation of the temple from site USJ25 to site USJ23 which is just three kilometers away.

Reports say that around 2 am the trouble started between two groups of people.  It is also said that the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple leader S. Ramaji has pressed the need for the Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to involve in the matter and solve the issue as he suspects fould play in the relocation of the temple and against a judgment given earlier by the courts.
