Schools closed today due to heavy rains

Heavy torrential downpour in Chennai and in parts of Tamil Nadu has played spoilsport as schools have been stalled for a week. Last night saw intermittent spells of rain leading to a heavy lashing this morning.

According to reports, today and tomorrow wil also see intensified rainfall in and around Chennai region. Keeping this in mind, holidays have been announced for 9 districts including Chennai by their respective district collectors.

Schools in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Nagapatnam, Thiruvarur, Vizhupuram, Kadalur, Karaikkal and Thiruvannamalai will be closed today.
