3 school students drowned in Marina beach, and they are still missing. The unfortunate event happened, after 15 students of the Tambaram Selaiyur corporation school informed that they are going to school but instead went to the beach and went for a dip in the sea.

As the students were having fun in the sea, Vinoth(14), Sathish Kumar(14) both belonging to Tambaram and Senthilkumar (14) belonging to Guindy were swept away by the giant waves, and they drowned. As their friends who accompanied them could not find the trio, they informed the police immediately.

The Marina station police team is on the lookout for the three students, and even fishermen are searching the students and locate them. Besides, Special police force has been deployed and they are making use of helicopters to search them. This incident has come as a shocker, as between 2017-18 alone, more than 20 people in the age group of 15-30 drowned in the sea, and despite repeated warnings from police, people throng to danger zones, and face life threatening situations.
