Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiiyaan', directed by his daughter Soundarya, released in 2014, but it's in the news for a wrong reason in 2018.
Media One Global Entertainment was one of the film's bankrollers for which Latha Rajinikanth (Superstar's wife) is a director. The firm had reportedly sought a loan of Rs.10 crore during post-production works from a company called Ad Bureau. However later, following Ad Bureau's claim that Media One Global Entertainment owed R.6.2 crores in dues and that the rights of the film were sold illegally by producing fake documents in the court, the issue came to be heard by the Supreme Court.
On Tuesday, the SC has ordered Latha Rajinikanth to refund the said firm with an amount of Rs.6.2 crores along with the due interest. The court also has given a stipulated time of two weeks for the payment of the same.
