A relative of Savitri has alleged that Vijaya Chamundeswari (Savitri's daughter) is shedding tears today after subjecting her mother to pain when she was alive.

"I have seen Vijaya getting emotional in the context of 'Mahanati'. I understand her emotions. After all, it's a biopic of her mother. That emotional attachment is expected. But when Savitri grau was alive, she, her husband and in-laws dragged her to the court. They didn't let her stay in her own house. Savitri garu had to live in a rented house at Anna Nagar, Madras. And Vijaya and her family lived in Savitri garu's own house," the unnamed relative says.

"Savitri garu led a tragic life. 'Mahanati' shows only the things that they want people to know. Who looked after Satish (Savitri's son) post his mother's death? It was Gemini Ganesan's first wife, Alamelu, who was really a great person," the relative says.
