Saudi Arabia issues drivers licenses to women for the first time!

In Saudi Arabia, even if there’s not a direct ban on driving vehicles, a woman doing so will usually be detained until a male guardian comes and assures that she will not drive again. Disappointing, isn’t it? Looks like good days are ahead for Saudi people, as the nation issued driving licenses to a group of ten women for the first time.

After the next three weeks, Saudi Arabia will be removing its longstanding ban on driving. It is also worth mentioning here that several activists and opponents of the driving ban were arrested just a few weeks earlier. It is expected that women will start to receive their licenses starting from June 24. It is worth noting here that the Saudi people are looking forward to the ban of guardianship law.
