Sattam Oru Iruttarai
'Sattam Oru Iruttarai' is a blockbuster of the 1980s, directed by S A Chandrasekaran. The film elevated the star status of Vijayakanth to great heights, besides setting a benchmark in collections. Now the film is being remade, under the same title. The new version is helmed by Sneha Britto, who is the grand niece of SAC. The movie stars Thaman Kumar, Bindu Madhavi, Piaa Bajpai and Reemma Sen among others in lead roles. Music is by Vijay Antony, while cinematography is by C J Rajkumar. The original was an action adventure, taking a dig at loopholes in the legal system of the country. But the remake comes with some value addition. Sneha Britto says she has included a 'beautiful love story' into the original script. "I have also made some other changes, to suit the taste of today's audience. In short, the new Sattam Oru Iruttarai will be a good mix of action, love and sentiment." Interestingly, SAC has helped the young director in shaping up the remake. "He is guiding me through the making. It's a difficult subject to direct, but we all worked as a team, and everyone was very co-operative," Sneha says. Sneha, who has made sure that the story and script have been changed to match the present day scenario, has also shot some important scenes of the film in Hong Kong. "I am hopeful that everyone would enjoy the film a lot," she signs off. |
