Sathyaraj, the tough cop

D Ramesh, who made his foray in Kollywood directing Vijayakanth- starrer 'Ulavuthurai' and later wielded the megaphone for 'Jananam' starring Arun Vijay is back after a brief interval.
This time, he is directing Sathyaraj for a film titled 'Kalavaram'. The movie is based on a real life incident that hit the headlines in Tamil Nadu a few years ago
Says Ramesh, The film provides a solution for violence. Sathyaraj plays a Deputy Commissioner of Police who starts his career with firm belief on ahimsa and dharma. But he is forced to take up arms and fights injustice.
The film has no romance and will have only two songs. It is being shot in and around Chennai and Madurai, he adds. Popular Telugu actor Thanikala Bharani plays the baddie.
Says Sathyaraj, I am extremely happy to be part of such a film that has an interesting storyline. Though I am busy acting in 10 films now, impressed by the story, I chose to complete this first.
