Sathyaraj's daughter Divya recently met DMK Chief M.K. Stalin at his house which has triggered speculations that she has joined the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Divya is known for her work in the nutritional field and was in the news recently for writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the malpractices in the pharmaceutical companies around the globe and an attempt to force her to prescribe harmful medicines.

Divya has clarified that her meeting with Stalin was a courtesy call as both their families are close to each other. She has stated that a discussion regarding nutrition of the Tamil people was held between the two but denied joining the party. Divya has however expressed an interest in politics and would take a call in the future.
