Sathumpodaathay
After a brief interval, Vasanth, a student of K Balachander school of filmmaking, is back to wield the megaphone. He is directing the likes of Prithviraj, Padmapriya among others for Sathumpodaathay.
Known for his realistic portrayals, Vasanth, assures Sathumpodaathay will also be a sincere and serious effort.
It would be an emotional pot-boiler. All characters in the movie are reflections of people seen in our daily life.
In a nut shell, the movie is about a sudden turn of events which lead to several troubles in a middle-class family. How they overcome all of them forms the crux.
Prithviraj, after a good outing in Parijatham, plays the lead role in the movie. Giving him company is Padmapriya. She is keen to scalp a hat-trick in Sathumpodaathay after neat performances in Thavamai Thavamirundhu and Pattiyal.
Prithviraj, the young actor from Kerala, has already made his mark giving a matured performance in Kana Kanden followed by a smart portrayal in K Bhagayaraj's Parijatham.
Also in the cast includes Raghavraja, a young music composer who set to tunes the song Kadhal Vandhucho in Hey Nee Romba Azhaga Irukae directed by Vasanth.
On his break, Vasanth says, `I took a break in search of a good story which ended with Sathumpodaathay.'
A major portion of the movie was shot in Chennai and Kanchipuram. Prithviraj plays an engineer, while Padmapriya, a graduate. Nitin makes his debut as the second hero.
After Poovelam Kettupar, Yuvan Shankar Raja teams up with Vasanth for Sathumpodaathay. Giving his heart-out for the movie, Vasanth is confident that movies with good storyline will always click at the box-office.
Will his hopes become true? Just wait.
