Following the sensational Sathankulam police brutality case, 80 police officers working in Trichy range of Tamil Nadu police were removed as their interpersonal skills weren't up to the mark. The 80 officers will undergo training for behavioural correction in public interaction.

Trichy range Deputy Inspector General of Police V Balakrishnan shared the information on his Facebook page with his post that read “We are removing 80 police personnel in Trichy police range who need behavioural correction to improve their interpersonal skills. They are taken off the duties involving direct public contact as their track record in that aspect is found wanting. They will be gradually reintegrated into regular duties only after completing a specially designed course with CBT( Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) component to improve the way they deal with the public."

It has been said that the list of 80 police officers were finalised on the basis of information given by senior officers besides previous records. The behavioural course is being designed currently and a psychologist is being consulted for designing it. This training will be held for a month. The Trichy range comprises five districts namely, Trichy, Pudukottai, Karur, Ariyalur and Perambalur.
