Anurag Kashyap has been one of the most celebrated makers of the country, who is known for his works like Black Friday, No Smoking, Gangs of Wasseypur, Manmarziyaan and many other critically acclaimed, hard hitting movies.
The director, when he had made Gangs of Wasseypur, had thanked the Madurai triumvirate Ameer Sultan, Bala and Sasikumar, for inspiring him with their movies to make the raw gangster flick. Now, Anurag Kashyap has organized a special screening of Subramaniapuram in Mumbai, and has called the movie as the first of the three films that inspired Gangs of Wasseypur.
An elated Sasikumar took it to Twitter to thank Anurag Kashyap, as he tweeted, "Subramaniapuram received accolades in different forms. This is one of the best. Thank you Anurag ji for this honour!".Anurag had made his tamil debut as an actor with Imaikkaa Nodigal last year, and recently Sasikumar had shared screen space with Gangs of Wasseypur hero Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Petta.
