Director and actor Sasikumar was last seen playing a cameo in Superstar Rajnikanth starrer Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj, where he played the actor's best friend and was paired with Malayalam actress Malavika Mohanan. The actor is one of the busiest in K-Town, starring in multiple projects at the moment.

Sasikumar had recently signed an action movie directed by NV Nirmal Kumar of Salim and the yet to be released Sathuranga Vettai 2 fame, and this movie produced by Kalpataru pictures is being filmed in Mumbai. The movie also stars senior actor Sarathkumar in a key role.

Recently the team was shooting an action sequence in busy streets of Mumbai, and since they did not want to disturb the public, were shooting the scene where Sasi chases and attacks baddies with the help of hidden cameras. Much to the team's shock, some people thought it was a real fight and informed police, while to the surprise of Sasikumar, many Mumbai Tamils were able to recognise him and took photos with him, and that has made the actor happy.
