Sasikala, former aide of former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa, has commenced her return to Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bangalore this morning.
Sasikala, who hadn't been on speaking terms for the past many years with her deceased husband Natarajan, was let out on parole from her prison cell in Bangalore to attend the funeral and to perform other rituals for the next fortnight. Natarajan passed away on 20th February.
The parole had many pre-conditions attached to it; one of them was that Sasikala was asked not to move out of Thanjavur. Now that the parole period has ended, Sasikala has commenced her return journey to prison cell this morning so as to reach the prison by 04:00 p.m. today.
It may be recalled that she has served one out of four years of rigorous imprisonment awarded to her in the misappropriation of assets case.
