Late Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha's close friend VK Sasikala yesterday called on Superstar Rajinikanth at the latter's residence. An official note from the ADMK, the political party, revealed the reason today.
The official word is that Sasikala visited the 'Peddanna' actor to enquire about his health after his recent hospitalization and recovery. It was further added by the official version that the leader of the ADMK also congratulated the legendary actor on being conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
Latha Rajinikanth, the superstar's wife, was also present during the meeting.
On the work front, the 'Kabali' and 'Kaala' actor has been listening to scripts and is in the process of finalizing one that will go on floors in early 2022. His last film, 'Peddanna', became a hit in Tamil. In Telugu, it was a flop. "The second half descends into a routine template and the antagonists don't seem to have any influence over the storyline. There was a time when Rajini's films used to have powerful villains. It's no longer the case," our review of the Siva directorial said.
