At the annual national level Dr B Saroja Devi award presentation to Dr Jayanathi, Abhinayade Shaarade the KCA Chairman SV Rajendra Singh Babu urged for Phalke award to Dr Devi and Padmasri award to Dr Ambarish.

It was a touching event at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Bengaluru on Sunday. On the heroines going from south to north Dr Ambarish recalled the scene is reverse today. Heroines from north are coming to South he stated.

Looking at Dr B Saroja Devi remembering other heroines Dr Jayanthi, Dr Bharathi, Vaijayanthi Mala, Sridevi, Jayaprada in 80-90 went to Hindi and flourished. There are not many heroine who stayed for more than forty years in the scene. The north Indian heroines today act in or two films and vanish. Dr B Saroja Devi speaking on her association with Dr Jayanthi said both travelled for a long in the cinema industry. We used to play cards in the younger days.
