Mahesh Babu has so much to say about 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata'. Without revealing the theme of the movie, the superstar says that his characterization will be a stand-out element.

In this interview, he suggests that director Parasuram Petla has written a catch-all script. Catch him say something in brief about his films with Trivikram and SS Rajamouli as well.

'SVP', produced by Mythri Movie Makers, will hit the screens on May 12.

Why have you been saying that 'SVP' is going to be another 'Pokiri'?

'Pokiri' had a certain mass meter; the shades of my character were specific. 'SVP' reminds me of that film. Even while shooting, 'Pokiri' would come to my mind at times. In terms of creating euphoria in the mass audience, I think both films are in a similar zone. The title is story-based. The title was outed by the media before we could do it officially. The tattoo on my neck was Parasuram's idea. I really liked how he designed the first poster with the special effects team in tandem.

We have been hearing a lot about Keerthy Suresh's scenes in the movie. How about Samuthirakani, the main villain?

Keerthy Suresh has really done a nice job. Her scenes involving me are going to keep the audience entertained thoroughly in the first half, where the story unfolds in the US. The track will attract repeat audience, much like it was the case with 'Dookudu'. You will understand the jokes I have cracked when you watch the movie.

Coming to the antagonist, Samuthirakani garu has shouldered a hard character. Before he was zeroed in on, we considered a couple of big names. After a couple of schedules were over, it dawned upon me that Samuthirakani garu would do full justice. The director played ball. It was Samuthirakani garu's wish to have the goggles I have used in the film as a gift. After watching his performance, I told my team that he deserves a whole goggles shop!

Coming to your looks, there is a self-referential line in the trailer. Is it really a task to maintain youngish looks?

I am just happy always. Actually, the dialogue was inserted by Parasuram on the spot. It was not pre-planned. On my advice, the dialogue was inserted in the trailer instead of my birthday teaser.

'Ma Ma Mahesha' is expected to excite the audience. What went into it?

Before the song shoot, Sekhar Master made me rehearse the dance moves for two days at home. The set was put up in 10 days. The two days of rehearsals eased me and I didn't find it too challenging.

Was it not hard to do 'SVP' anywhere?

The Goa schedule, wherein an action sequence was shot in the Summer was not easy. It's a beach fight. Fight masters Ram and Lakshman have done a great job. I like how they ensure all safety precautions are in place.

What is your take on Thaman's music?

His music is being loved by all sections of audiences. He told us that 'Kalaavathi' will be heard at all weddings. Such was his conviction! His BGM is stupendous.

Why do you think are our movies enjoying so much popularity among the Hindi audience?

It's because we are making brilliant movies. We have stuck to our strengths in terms of making the right emotional films. The pandemic hasn't changed the nature of commercial cinema. Commercial cinema will always remain in shape.

I don't want to sound controversial by saying that I won't debut in Bollywood. Telugu films going national is like a dream come true.

How excited are you about the films with Trivikram and Rajamouli?

Trivikram garu's dialogues are always special. It feels natural to act in his films. I am excited about the shoot. As for Rajamouli garu's film, it's early days. Doing one film with him is like doing 25 films at a time.

What plans do Sitara and Gautam have?

Kids these days are etching their own plans. Their parents haven't prodded them to do this or that. Gautam wants to study abroad. As for Sitara, she is showing interest in acting.
