As fans are gearing up to celebrate the mega release of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Sarkar' on November 6th, one Varun Rajendran as approached the court alleging that director A.R. Murugadoss plagiarized his story. According to the petition, Varun had registered his story 'Sengol' with the Writers Union in 2006 itself and the union President K. Bhagyaraj has also confirmed that the stories are similar. The petitioner has sought to stop the release of the film and to include his name in the credits and a compensation of rupees thirty lakhs.
Varun had urged the court to treat his case as urgent but Sun Pictures had already filed a caveat to protect the release of 'Sarkar'. The court has agreed to hear the case today and by evening it will become clear what the decision is.
