One Varun Rajendhran approached the Madras High Court seeking a ban on Thalapathy Vijay's 'Sarkar' release on November 6th, his name to be added to the credits and a compensation of rupees 30 lakhs. He has alleged that the movie is based on his screenplay 'Sengol' which he has registered with the Writers Union in 2006 itself. After a complaint and on scrutiny the union head K. Bhagyaraj too had felt there is an unmistakable similarity between the two scripts.
This morning the case came for hearing and the judge refused to ban the 'Sarkar' paving the way for a smooth release on Diwali day. Fans were seen celebrating as soon as the news arrived and social media is also ablaze.
