The 'Sarkar' vs ADMK issue is having serious repercussions in the film's collections and theater owners whose properties have been vandalized by party cadres objecting to certain scenes and dialogues. Read : Scenes that were removed from 'Sarkar' after ADMK issue

Meanwhile 'Thamizh Padam 2' director C.S. Amudhan has trolled the Tamil Nadu government for aiding in the promotions of 'Sarkar' and not doing the same for his film which also had many scenes satirizing current political scenarios.
