Thalapathy Vijay's 'Sarkar' movie that released on Diwali day has become a huge hit but was marred by the controversies surrounding it as the ruling ADMK government was not amused by its freebies thrown to flames in a scene. Cases were filed against A.R. Murugadoss and Vijay but the issue died down after the controversial scenes were removed.
Now a fresh new case has been filed against Thalapathy Vijay by the Thrissur Health Department in Kerala alleging that the mass hero glorified smoking in the posters and in the movie. The case was filed under the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Product Act. which prevents the visualization of smoking in film posters, an offense which attracts a jail term of 2 years and rupees 1000 as fine. Banners depicting Vijay smoking have been removed from theaters screening 'Sarkar'.
