Following the resounding success of Sardar during Diwali 2022, director PS Mithran and Karthi have kept their promise to fans and are now hard at work on the highly anticipated sequel, Sardar 2. The film, which commenced production in mid-July, sees Karthi reprise his titular role alongside a star-studded cast.
Adding to the excitement, Kannada cinema sensation Ashika Ranganath has joined the Sardar 2 team. Known for her collaborations with top stars in the Kannada film industry and her current project with Chiranjeevi in Vishwambhara, Ashika is also part of Siddharth's upcoming romantic venture, Miss You. Her inclusion in Sardar 2 was announced on her birthday by Prince Pictures, the film's producers.
Joining Ashika in the stellar cast are SJ Suryah and Malavika Mohanan, who are set to play pivotal roles. With both the father and son, played by Karthi, still on the run from the previous film, audiences can expect the return of Agent Chandrabose, the elder Sardar, and his son Vijay in the sequel. However, the presence of Vijay's love interest Shalini, portrayed by Raashi Khanna, remains shrouded in mystery.
Sardar 2 will feature a captivating soundtrack by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with George C Williams handling the cinematography and Vijay Velukutty ensuring a smooth edit. This marks the second sequel in Karthi's current lineup, as he is also set to reunite with Lokesh Kanagaraj for Kaithi 2, a crucial part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which includes acclaimed films like Vikram and Leo. Kaithi 2 is rumored to be Lokesh's next project after he completes Coolie with Rajinikanth.
With a formidable cast, a promising story, and the creative vision of Mithran and Karthi, Sardar 2 is poised to be a thrilling and action-packed sequel that will undoubtedly captivate audiences. Expectations are increasing on Sardar 2 and viewers are waiting eagerly to find out what more thrills Karthi will offer to them on the big screen.
