In his speech in yesterday's event of introducing his team's candidates contesting in the Nadigar Sangam Elections, the incumbent President of the Sangam R.Sarathkumar came down heavily on his industry colleague Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan.
It is well known that Kamal Haasan has openly rendered his support for the Pandavar Ani spearheaded by Vishal and Nasser who will be contesting in the elections to be held on October 18 in Chennai. After Kamal's support becoming public Sarathkumar accused Kamal of trying to divide the Sangam and he was the mastermind of Pandavar Ani. Sarathkumar also called Kamal as an ungrateful actor for the latter's failure to acknowledge his voluntary efforts in releasing 'Uttama VIllain'.
In his recent speech, Sarath accused Kamal Haasan of insulting Tamil Nadu and its Cheif Minister Jayalalitha by saying that he will leave the State when he faced tremendous pressure over the release of 'Viswaroopam' in 2012. Sarath even tried to imitate Kamal while recalling this and said Kamal said the same statement in his speech in front of American NRIs thereby causing defame to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Tamil people in a foreign land. Citing Kamal's remark of leaving the state Sarath asked whether a man should face the problem or run away from it?.
Sarath also faulted Kamal for not attending the funeral of veteran director K.Balachander. Recalling Kamal's statement that he could not come as he was in the USA at that time Sarath said it would have cost not more than Rs.15 lakhs for an up and down first class flight journey to pay the last respects to mortal remains of KB who is addressed as Guru by Kamal.
