The 63rd Annual General Body Meeting of the South Indian Artists Association (Nadigar Sangam) had resolved to remove the Ex-President R.Sarathkumar, Ex-General Secretary Radharavi and Ex-Treasurer Vaagai Chandrasekar based on corruption charges.
Earlier the trio had denied permission to attend the Sangam's AGM as their membership had been temporarily suspended.
Now reacting to this shocking move veteran actor and former MLA Sarathkumar who was governing the Nadigar Sangam as President for more than a decade has sent a press release in which he has requested his fans and well-wishers to stay calm,
""First of all it is still not clear whether the conduct of Nadigar Sangam's General Body Meet is correct as per the by-laws of the Sangam. It is completely unacceptable that we have been removed from the Sangam through a resolution passed in this meeting.
We have already approached the Court against the temporary suspension of our membership. The matter is subjudice. Removing us permanently is an illegal move.
We will take this arbitrary decision to Court and find a legal remedy. I thank all the brothers and sisters who called me an expressed their support for me .
I request my fans and party cadres to stay calm."
