In a sudden move Sarathkumar and Seeman have forged an alliance and have jointly stated at the Madurai Airport today that their respective parties would together take on various issues that are affecting the people of Tamil Nadu.  Both are of the view that since the AIADMK has lost its charismatic leader Jayalalitha, the party is unable to do good for the people.  Simalarly according to them the Central government too has mostly ignored the state in its union budget and also disappointed by not raising the slab for income tax.

Sarath and Seeman dont see the Center doing anything to improve the state of the farmers in the remaining year of the BJP rule and that they feel the time is ripe for joining hands for the future.  Political analysts are seeing this move of Samathuva Makkal Katchi and Naam Thamizhar as a measure to counter the formidable Rajini and Kamal in the poltical landscape of the state.
