Senior actor and the Nadigar Sangam President R.Sarathkumar gave a strong rebuttal to the charges made by the Pandavar Ani` lead by Vishal and other actors of the rebel group.

The contract entered between the Sangam and a private theatre complex to build a mall in the land in Sangam`s premises has been the bone of contention raised by the Rebel group of actors which has now spiraled into a war between the two groups that will be contesting in the Elections to be held on October 18. The rebel group of actors and their supporters have made various allegations, including mishandling of the Sangam funds on the President Sarathkumar and his team of office bearers .

In his reply to these charges Sarathkumar in said "We wanted to ensure that the Sangam does not plunge into debt again. So we wanted to build a building that will fetch a permanent income. We could have received Rs.24 lakhs as rent per month. Except salaries we don`t need to give anything. We discussed for so many days before deciding upon the contract. We got permission from Executive and general body committee.

If they (rebel group of actors) had come once and said they will construct the building by raising funds together., I would have definitely asked Swaroop (the owner of the theatre complex) whether the contract could be withdrawn. But they are raising the war flag. I am the most accessible actor In this industry. Anyone could contact me at any time. I was shocked to know that there was a signature campaign to talk to me and Ravi.

We have not done anything wrong. We have proved in the Court that we have followed the Sangam`s bylaws. The agreement is a perfect one. The building would have been completed 2013. We would have received 4-5 crores as income now.

There should be unity between actors. So I appeal to every actor to not speak (wrongly) about others. If they continuously keep hounding me, I will talk after 10-15 days. If I reveal what someone told in Tamil Nadu you will understand what will happen. I hold secrets in my heart. But let me not open that box and say who said what about who. If I start saying that many people will be in trouble. I have lot of things locked up in my mind. I will speak only the truth but that truth will be painful to many. I don`t want to hurt anybody. They write letters only through media. They will say things only to media before telling me. So I also replied through the media
