Superstar Rajinikanth took part as one of the chief Guest's in the Thuglak Annual Day function held in Chennai on Saturday (January 14, 2017). This is the first annual meeting after the demise of the magazine's founder Cho Ramaswamy.
While the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering through video conferencing facility, Rajinikanth attended the full event in person and also gave a lengthy speech about Cho, his long time friend and guide .
In his address Rajinikanth has said that he misses Cho, at this time of unusual political climate in Tamil Nadu. It is a given fact that Cho was one of the greatest political analyst and satirists of India. He was bold and forthright in expressing his views against the powers that be.
The Superstar's comment was allegedly retorted by actor and Akila India Samuthuava Makkal Katchi founder R.Sarathkumar who has allied with the ruling AIADMK party. The 'Nattamai' actor had allegedly stated that Rajinikanth has no rights to speak anything about politics and if Rajini enters politics he will be the first person to oppose that.
But now Sarathkumar has come out with a detailed clarification. In a detailed statement, the former MLA of Tenkasi Assembly constituency said his statements has been misinterpreted and wrongly quoted by those who did not attend his press meet while those who did have correctly presented what he spoke.
Sarathkumar said when press persons asked about Rajinikanth's comment on "unusual political climate" in TamilNadu, the Supreme Star had just said that they (press persons) have to ask about it to Rajinikanth and not to him.
When another journalist asked what would be his reaction if the Superstar starts a political party, Sarathkumar clarified that he did not say that Rajini is not capable of starting a political as it has been reported in certain sections of media.
"Rajini is a good person and nice friend but if he starts a political party I will oppose that." This is what the Sexagenarian star said about his film industry senior's much expected entry in to politics according to his latest statement.
