One of the best known thrillers from the first action hero of Malayalam, Jayan was named 'Manushya Mrugam'. The movie went on to become one of the best run movies of the star, making him the most popular hero of the eighties. And when one hear the news that another movie is in the pipeline with the same name, that too with supreme star Sarath Kumar in the lead, most will smell a remake.

Sorry folks, this new movie to be directed by actor Baburaj, will not be a remake but a fresh attempt with Sarath Kumar cast as a Crime branch S P. The actor who is devoting much of his time to Malayalam in recent days, will be for the first time cast in the role of a police officer in a Malayalam movie. Scheduled to start this month at Perumbavoor, 'Manushya Mrugam' will also feature Kalabhavan Mani, Jagathy, Salimkumar and Abu Salim in other key roles.

'Manushya Mrugam' will be the second movie from Baburaj, whose debut movie 'Black Dahlia' met with a lukewarm response at the Box Office.
