Sarath becomes Nadigar Sangam chief again

With no one ready to take part in the race (or to contest the election) R Sarath Kumar has been unanimously elected to the post of president of South Indian Film Artistes Association, popularly known as Nadigar Sangam.
This is for the third consecutive term Sarath is being elected for the prestigious post. The actor-politician, who is a member of the Tamil Nadu legislative Assembly, is also the chief of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi.
An official press release from the Nadigar Sangam said Radha Ravi, Vagai Chandrashekar, Vijayakumar and Kalai were also elected unopposed as General Secretary, Treasurer, and to the two Vice-President posts respectively.
There is an executive committee with twenty-four members including Silambarasan, Nalini and Chinni Jayanth. Circles close to the office-bearers said they were planning to implement many initiatives for the welfare of artistes and their families.
