South Indian Film Artistes Association president Sarath Kumar has said actors in Kollywood should come forward to do multistarrers, as the Tamil film industry is facing a tough time due to various reasons.

“People would come to theatres in large numbers only if there is more number of popular actors in a film. So topline artistes should join hands with each other,” Sarath, who did a cameo in ‘Kola Kolaya Mundhirikka’, said at the film’s premiere show in Chennai recently.

Stating that there was nothing wrong in doing multistarrers, the Nadigar Sangam president said, “Even I did movies like ‘Pazhassi Raja’. A trend similar to Bollywood and Mollywood should emerge here too.”

The actor, who said that multistarrers with enough importance to scripts could alone save Tamil film industry, added that he would like to stand in front of the camera till his last breath. “This is my aim,” he said.
