Beautiful and promising young actress Sara Ali Khan will soon be seen in the role of a cheerful and happy go lucky girl in Anand L Rai's upcoming romantic comedy 'Atrangi Re'. The actress is going to share screen with superstars Dhanush and Akshay Kumar in it and this casting has become a reason of criticism for the film. Several people found it problematic that Sara Ali Khan, who is 26 years old is shown to be in romantic relationships with Dhanush and Akshay, who are 12 and 28 years older than her.
During a recent exclusive interview with Koimoi, Sara addressed this issue and she glossed over the problem by stating that age, gender and other things don't matter in cinema. She said, "One of my favourite things about being on a film set is ‘farak nahi padta’. Aap kon ho, aap kya ho, ek lightman se leke, ek boom dada se leke, producer, director, actor sab ek hote hai. Because we are all here to do the same thing, which is making a movie and we are all putting in our 100%.”
Sara further added, "At that point the age, the gender – it doesn’t matter, it really truly doesn’t matter. And at that moment if you are making, what you think is a good film, (then) you’re not Sara or Akshay Kumar. You are the character. I’m Rinku at that moment, Akshay sir is Sajjad, Dhanush sir is Vishu – that’s what it is. It’s that magic. At that point, the rest become immaterial.”
