In today's day and age, social media has made it easier for celebrities to keep touch with their fans. Sharing moments from their personal lives and interacting with fans works as a powerful marketing tool but it also takes a toll on privacy of an actor. In a recent media interaction, actress Sanya Malhotra shared that her social media presence doesn't really affect her lifestyle as she keeps control over her privacy.
She told ETimes, "I love it when people can have privacy in today’s day and age, and it’s controllable. I don’t think my personal life is all out there. There’s no back-up for talent and hardwork. So, I’m not ever under that pressure to keep my social media a certain way or behave like a star."
Sanya went on share that her intent behind pursuing acting was never to become a "star". She stated, "I can’t relate to the word star. I didn’t come here to be one. A byproduct of the profession is popularity but my goal was not to be a star. I maintain that boundary between personal and professional. My work is a part of my life, not my whole life. I’m very passionate about my job, but when I am away from it, I am a totally different person. In this line of work, it’s so easy to make your profession your sole identity. I will lose my sanity if I let that happen to me. I know where to stop and not drown myself into my work completely."
The actress concluded by saying, "I always wanted to be an actor and it’s so much fun being that. To stardom ka pressure kaun le? Wo bhi itna saara! It’s a fab thing to just be an actor, no?”
