Talented actress Sanya Malhotra, who made her debut with Aamir Khan starrer sports film 'Dangal', recently completed five years in the film industry. In these five years, Sanya has worked in several successful films and played a wide range of characters in then. With her diverse filmography, she has managed to avoid being typecasted as well.

During a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Sanya talked about 'Dangal' and her journey after it. She said, "The film did exceptionally well. It paved the way for my career. I had a sense of belonging to the film industry right since the beginning but there’s a sense of comfort now." Talking about the best aspect of her career so far, the actress said, “A lot has happened in these five years. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some great directors and actors. I feel extremely grateful and quite blessed.”

Sanya never shies away from taking risks as she often takes up scripts which are quite unconventional. She recently did so by playing the role of a young widow in 'Pagglait' and talking about the film, she said, “I never lost confidence in myself and I’ve always believed that I was going the right way. But this film came to me at the right time. I was given a lot of freedom to play my part. I learnt a lot about myself throughout the process of filming.”
