Santhanam starrer 'Dikkiloona' is a long-delayed K-town flick that is awaiting release for more than a year. The principal photography of the film was wrapped up in March 2020 before the COVID-19. The movie was initially supposed to have a theatrical release in April 2020 but was postponed and called off due to the substantial lockdown in India.
Karthik Yogi, who was a story writer in Tamil cinema, makes his directorial debut with Dikkiloona. Anagha of 'Natpe Thunai' fame is playing the leading lady opposite the comedy star Santhanam. Famous cricketer Harbhajan Singh is also part of the star cast. Also, Shirin Kanchwala, Yogi Babu, Motta Rajendran, Anandraj, Mundasupatti Ramdoss, and Panda Prashanth are featuring in the supportive roles.
Meanwhile, we broke the news long back that Dikkiloona would skip theatrical release and will premier on the streaming platform ZEE5 in September. Today, the production house KJR Studios have made it official that Dikkiloona will start premiering on ZEE5 Tamil from the 10th of September. For the first time, Santhanam will be seen three avatars that are three time periods of the same character in this motion picture.
Music Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja remixed a popular classical song Per Vachalum Vaikama Ponalum, which was composed by his father Ilaiyaraja, for the soundtrack of this time travel thriller. The trailer hinted that the plot is taking place in the time duration of 2020-27. There is huge anticipation among the fans as Dikkiloona is the second time travel rom-com in Kollywood after the super successful 'Indru Netru Naalai'.
