Actor Santhanam's 'Dhillukku Dhuddu' has released worldwide yesterday and has been garnering overwhelming positive reviews. The film that marks the Kollywood debut of 'Lollu Sabha' fame director Ram Bala has struck the right chord with the audience as a horror-comedy and people are clapping with loud laughs for the most part of the film.

Reports from the trade circles say that the film has got a tremendous opening. It has collected around Rs.4 crores in Tamil Nadu theatricals on the release day. The collections in Chennai and Chengalpet box offices are Rs.36 lakhs and Rs.75 lakhs respectively. The box office gross from Trichy and Tanjore locations was Rs.37 lakhs.

The trade sources reveal that this is the fourth biggest opening for any film this year. By all means is a tremendous achievement for a comedian turned hero Santhanam and a newcomer Shanaya in lead roles. yesterday being a public holiday for Ramzan seems to have worked as an added fortune.

This is only Santhanam's third film as the hero and the critics verdict is that the actor has extraordinarily picked up dance and stunt movements and he is all set to reach bigger heights as a commercial hero.
