The vacuum created by Vadivelu in ‘Guru Sishyan’ after he walked out of the project has been filled by Santhanam. “Scenes involving the actor will tickle the funny bone of the audience,” says sources in the unit.

The film was initially publicised that Vadivelu’s performance would be one of the highlights. The comedian however opted out of the film alleging that no scenes were shot on him even after months after the commencement of the shoot.

Following this, Santhanam has been roped in by Shakthi Chidambaram, the director and producer of the movie. “Few changes were made to the comedy part to suit to Santhanam. The actor would as usual rock in this movie,” sources add.

With Sundar C and Sathyaraj in lead roles, the film, though inspired by the title of a Rajinikanth hit, is no remake. The film however has a remix song. ‘Vangaonna…’ from the movie ‘Bhadrakali’, has been given a ‘fresh look’ by Dheena for ‘Guru Sishyan’.
