Santhanam faces power cut

Actor SanthanamÂs career as a comedian is going on a upward trend after a few debacles last year. The trailer of his upcoming film ÂVallavanukku Pullum Aayudham in which he dons the lead hero role was released recently and it had all ingredients necessary to multiply the pre release buzz.

But recently the actorÂs name has appeared in news for a bad reason. Santhanam runs his office at Virugambakkam, a locality in Chennai. It is alleged that the actor failed to mention it as an office while applying for electricity connection and was paying the electricity charges that were applicable to residential properties, so far. This was detected by flying squad officials belonging to Tamilnadu Electricity board and they terminated the EB connection to SanthanamÂs office immediately after detecting this misrepresentation of information yesterday (April 17). A fine of Rs.60, 000/- was also levied for the violation.
Reports suggest that Santhanam intervened and paid the fine amount to restore the electricity connection to his office.
