Santhanam's last on-screen appearance was on the recent OTT superhit 'Dikkiloona'. The comedian turned actor is busy with other exciting projects in his pipeline. One such venture is the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster film 'Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya' starring Naveen Polishetty.

The 2019 comedy thriller 'Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya' starring Naveen Polishetty and Shruti Sharma received huge appreciation and was successful at the box office. It follows a private detective whose life runs into danger when he starts investigating the case of a dead body abandoned near a railway track.

Now, the first look of the Tamil remake titled 'Agent Kannayiram' has just been dropped by the makers. The remake is helmed by Manoj Beedha of 'Vanjagar Ulagam' fame and backed by Labrynth Films. Santhanam will be reprising the titular role of a quirky detective that was played by Naveen Polishetty in the original. Young Maestro Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music for the film.

The team wrapped up the entire shoot in August and the post-production works are proceeding at a brisk phase. 'Agent Kannayiram' is reportedly planned to hit the big screens before the end of 2021. Along with Santhanam, Urvasi, Cooku with Comali fame Pugazh, Mundasupatti Munishkanth, and many others are featuring in prominent roles.
