Director Mussanje Mahesh with a seasoned producer like RS Gowda has not done justice to the screenplay of the film. With butter on hand he has not been able to realize it as a better ghee!
The second half especially is taxing to the brains and in the first half the intensity required is missing. Had the director discussed his prolonging screenplay with so many artists of his film that could have come to his help in tightening the screenplay! He looks lost in the completion of the film.
On the story part also this 'Sankranthi' is not novel. A dozen films in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages it has come and gone. Mussanje Mahesh picks the scenes from various films for the story of producer RS Gowda that is not new.
Sooryaprakash (Gururaj Jaggesh) is in love with Bhumika (Roopa) not quoting exact reasons for love. Both reach India and to the surprise of Bhumika her lover Sooryaprakash is in the joint family of her. The mission of Sooryaprakash is different. He wants his mother to rejoin this family. That is the wish of his mother who ran away from the house twenty years ago. As everyone dislike Sooryaprakash mother he uses his lover in this case for unity. That does not work out as the venom is still pouring out for Sooryaprakash mother.
How this patch up happens is the climax part that is as expected like thousands of Indian films.
Gururaj Jaggesh managed to give a convincing performance. The better director for him would churn out good results from this guy. The find of this film is Skanda Ashwath. He has a bright future in Kannada cinema industry. Roopa close up is stressful to watch. Veterans like Srinivasamurthy, Vijayakashi, Bhavya, BV Radha, Shanker Patil given able support.
Sridhar Sambrama fails to deliver a few good melodies. Nenape Nenapavadaga...is only tolerable tune in this film. Cinetech Soori has nothing exceptions. That is because of the limited gadgets given to him.
This is passable impossible!
Score - 4/10
