Sanju Samson scored his first double century in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy for Kerala against Goa at KSCA Cricket Ground. The wicketkeeper-batsman smashes 212 runs from 129 balls, with 20 fours and 10 sixes.
With this knock, the Kerala cricketer became the sixth Indian batsman to score a double hundred in List A cricket, joining Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Karn Kaushal and is now also the third Indian batsman to do this in domestic cricket. Sanju reached 200 in 125 deliveries, which happens to be the fastest double century by an Indian batsman and second fastest overall just beyond Australia’s Travis Head's fastest double century in List A cricket off 120 balls
With Sanju Samson’s double century the team put up a score of 377/3 on the board and he was also involved in a partnership of 338 runs for the third wicket with Sachin Baby, and the duo broke the 25-year-old record of the highest third-wicket partnership in List A cricket held by Tim Curtis and Tom Moody who scored 309 runs for Worcestershire against Surrey.
