South India's first snooker based film 'Sanjeevan' released, promising a different experience

There is always a demand for sports based films and today's release (October 14th) 'Sanjeevan' is touted to be South India's first snooker based film. Directed by Mani Shekar the film stars Vinod Lokidas, Satya, Shiv Nishant, Vimal Raja and Yaseen while Dhivya Durairaj plays the female lead.
The major highlight of 'Sanjeevan' is the nuts and bolts of snooker are explained to the audience in layman terms. The writer has cleverly likened it to the more widely played carrom board that has made it easy for those interested to not only get to know snooker but also a desire to try it out.
In the first half the director has focussed on a major snooker tournament finals in which the underdog hero played by Vinod Lokidas is pitted against an arrogant professional. The twist in the tale is whether he can make good his challenge.
'Sanjeevan' is not all about snooker as the story also focusses on the five friends three of whom are dependent on the son of the owner of the company they all work in. There is a love track between Vinod and Dhivya Duraiswamy as well as the bonding of the hero with his mother. The team has attempted to tell one story till the interval and totally different one after that.
Karthik Swarnakumar has shot the film while Shibu Neel, has taken care of the cut and Tanuj Menon has composed the music. Malar Movie Makers has bankrolled the project,
