Former India batsman and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been dropped from the commentary panel of BCCI. Manjrekar was an integral part of the commentary panel in most of India’s home matches in the recent years and the latest reports suggest that he might not be included in IPL 2020 as well.
As per reports, Manjrekar was not available during the first ODI between India and South Africa in Dharamshala while the other BCCI panel commentators Sunil Gavaskar, L Sivaramakrishnan and Murali Kartik were present.
Though there has been no official announcement regarding the reason for axing Manjrekar, it has been widely reported that the BCCI authorities weren't happy with his work. Manjrekar has been controversial thanks to his biased commentary besides getting into conflicts with players and fans with his remarks on social media. He had called Ravindra Jadeja a bits and pieces cricketer, and also had made remarks on ace commentator Harsha Bhogle.
