Sanjay Gupta's new home in Goa

The 2008/2009 recession had hit the film industry really hard. Everyone had suffered the economic meltdown. Sanjay Gupta was no exception.

A couple of his films didn’t work at the box-office and he was in huge debts. It got to a point that he gave his spacious villa in Goa to one of the financiers on the condition that he would buy it back once he had the funds.

When the time came to buy it back the financier refused to give it back as his family had started using it and loved the house which was fully furnished and designed by Gupta.

Recalled Gupta, Yes those were difficult times. The irony of it all was that I had the home when I was single and when I got married I lost the home. And my wife loves Goa. If she had her way she’d settle there. So it was a very sore point for me. I had to buy her a home in Goa. And recently we came across this fabulous Villa in Candolim next to the Taj Aguada and it was love at first sight.

We immediately closed the deal and are now busy doing it up in time to celebrate Christmas and New Year there. I’m so happy that I could get this for her.
